UPtex is a sustainable, fully recyclable material developed by UPPAREL, crafted entirely from post-consumer textiles that are no longer suitable for wear. Through a mechanical recycling process, these textiles are transformed into a versatile substrate that can be remanufactured into UPtex, insulation, furniture cushioning, and more at the end of its life, supporting a circular economy.
Available in both rigid and soft formats, UPtex comes in standard sizes of 1200mm x 600mm and 2400mm x 1200mm, with thickness options ranging from 3mm to 10mm. It is compatible with various eco-friendly printing techniques, including latex, solvent, and UV-curable inks, making it suitable for applications such as signage, homewares, acoustic panelling, and packaging.
Designed to replace conventional materials like cardboard, corflute, and polyurethane foam, UPtex is weather-resistant, durable, and non-toxic, making it ideal for both indoor and outdoor use. Its development aligns with UPPAREL’s commitment to reducing textile waste and promoting sustainable, circular design solutions.
