Timber Terrazzo by Foresso

Combining timber off-cuts with a thoroughly environmental approach to fabrication, Foresso’s Timber Terrazzo is a ground-breaking product moving in the right direction.

Founded in London, Foresso is a relatively new company to hit the market with its unique Timber Terrazzo product. An environmentally-friendly sheet material, Foresso’s Timber Terrazzo is made from all British timber offcuts and wood waste. To bind, the company has created a mix of 85 per cent recycled materials including waste cement, lime plaster and resin, which is then cast on a plywood substrate. The top is hand finished with food-safe wax oil.

Every single element that goes into creating Timber Terrazzo has been considered for its environmental properties and impact. In addition, Timber Terrazzo offers a simple installation as it comes in standard sheet sizes and requires no specialist tools to install or cut.

The need for material innovation is paramount as we move into the 21st century. Through new uses for waste materials, to clever combinations that make for beautiful outcomes, Timber Terrazzo is an example of a product that is not only beneficial to the environment in reducing waste but offers practical and functional applications.

Foresso’s ethics and responsibility run deep, with a desire to work and create a product that goes beyond just recycling, rather ensuring that its product is made with a quality and workmanship that considers longevity and traceability.

Currently only operating across Britain, Foresso’s Timber Terrazzo holds lasting potential.
